Learn how AMF partners with African mining operators.
We provide capital, relationships, and operational support to help African-owned mines expand, move up the value chain, and build enduring operations.
African mining operators face financing gaps despite high-quality assets. Local banks want fast repayment; there is no patient capital available. Foreign equity investors dilute local ownership. And global capital lacks the bandwidth to evaluate dispersed opportunities. Africa Mining Fund is the bridge, offering fairly priced and patient capital structured for mining, delivered by a team who understand the terrain.

The Africa Mining Fund is managed by Ibi International Ventures, led by a team with institutional roots in international finance, development economics, and African markets.

Alphonse has spent three decades bridging institutional finance and African markets. His career spans private markets and the World Bank Group, including 19 years at the International Finance Corporation, where he led the valuation of a $16 billion equity portfolio and structured investments across infrastructure, natural resources, and private equity. He later served as Executive Director of the World Bank Group, representing 23 African countries from 2019 to 2022. Alphonse founded Ibi Ventures to bring the same rigor and relationships to African-led projects across the continent, and is now launching the Africa Mining Fund with a clear conviction: that African-owned mining, backed by the right capital and partners, can deliver strong returns for investors while keeping more of Africa's mineral wealth on the continent.

Jenny began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa and has spent over 25 years bringing strategic discipline and operational rigor to organizations across the private sector and international development. Her experience spans management consulting at IBM Global Business Services and more than a dozen years serving as Chief of Staff and in senior operating roles overseeing strategy and execution for multiple CEOs. Jenny co-founded the Africa Mining Fund to close the capital gap facing African-owned mining companies and to drive local ownership and value capture. As COO, she is building the systems, teams, and operating infrastructure that will carry the Africa Mining Fund from formation through first close and beyond.

He previously served as Minister of Economy and Finance, where he was named African Finance Minister of the Year in 2012, and as Governor of the Central Bank of Guinea. Kerfalla later served as Ambassador of Guinea to the United States from 2018 to 2022, and has consulted for the World Bank, IMF, African Development Bank, and UNDP.
